Spot-clean faux fur plush by hand with cool water and a drop of mild detergent, blot it dry, then brush the coat back into direction while it is still damp. Machine washing is what mats the fur, and once the fibre curls, brushing will not fully bring it back.
A plush holds value through four things: how few were made, what condition it stays in, whether its origin can be proven, and whether the maker still matters years later. Cuteness and current hype move price in the short term; those four move it over a decade.
Keep collectible plush out of direct sun, off sealed plastic, and away from damp. Display on an open shelf with indirect light; store in a breathable cotton bag in a room-temperature cupboard, never a sealed bin in an attic or basement.
